A fine and extremely rare Hardy Cascapedia 4/0 1937 Pattern multiplying salmon reel, black anodized Duralumin construction with 1.75:1 ratio gearing, reverse tapered ebonite handle on counter-balanced serpentine crank winding arm set within an anti-foul rim, ribbed foot , triple cage pillars (one nickel silver roller bar), rear plate with nickel silver sliding optional check button and central milled seven point drum tension regulator with hinged spindle cap stamped “Oil”, face plate inset three circular medallions: Prince of Wales feathers, Royal Coat of Arms and “The Cascapedia size 4/0 Made by Hardy bros. Ltd., Alnwick, England”, only very light wear to finish from normal use, circa 1938. Factory records show only 26 of 4/0 models produced within 1936-1939.
